I write this as I return home from another night working at the theatre (even part time rock gods need to pay the bills you know) and I really should be going to bed, but I'm inspired, elated and well chuffed!

I bumped into an old friend from school at the bus stop in Greenwich. This is someone whom I spent all those years of adolescent hell with in the same classes, being annoyed by the same people, learning from the same teachers, failing the same exams! (actually, she didn't fail any...) She was one of the funniest people in our class, and still is - and is also one of the few of us that either doesn't have six or seven burberry clad chav babies screaming for big macs, or residing at her majesty's pleasure in Belmarsh. Well done girl, you did good!!

We've never really lost touch as such, but have been pretty lapsing in communication for the past couple of years, due to lots of stuff - I think mainly growing up and finding your own way and all those things that you feel you should do when you hit twenty something!

Its weird how all that happens. I think maybe you think you get to a certain point, then you want to start afresh, start all over again, and you start to drift from all the people and all the things that you knew and were safe with, for a new exciting life, with all the possibilities of whatever is round the corner. In my case it was bad debt and baldness, so its unsurprising that I now have great affection and a yearning to reconnect with those things I have let slip!

But with all things, it isn't easy - One of my best friends from school, with whom was always in friendly competition with when going for parts in school plays and the like (though it wasn't really competition, he was streets ahead, and still is!) also slipped from my grasp. I lost my phone and my entire life when I left it in Ecuador, and haven't been able to get in contact since.

But it turns out this evening that he's also been trying to contact me - if only to tell me he's getting married and buggering off to Oz in a few months. Cheers Daley, though I'll wait for you to tell me! And thanks to Shereen - the girl at the bus stop, I've managed to fill in gaps, rekindle a handful of friendships and start all over again.

This time I'll make more of an effort, I promise!
